President's Message
It seems like 4th of July was only yesterday and as I write this July is gone. I hope you are making the most of your summer. Special Thanks to the 'Log Jam Removal Crew'; - see the pics posted in this newsletter and you'll know why. This was a gorilla of a project and thanks to all who donated time and energy to help get the creek flowing again. Also, a special thank you shout out to Lawrence Denney who made a generous donation of $200to help with work party expenses. Thank You Lawrence!
We are well along with plans for this year’s Fall Dinner. The date is Saturday October 15th and as usual we will have a great selection of guns to raffle off as well as all the raffles, side boards etc... Tickets are sure to go fast so please get yours sooner rather than later. This is an important fund raiser for the Club and we need your support.
Turkey shoot for a Prime Logic CT3Bow! You just might be the lucky winner... see the special page later on in this newsletter. Last but not least, hey all you Walleye Fishermen... this just might be the best Walleye season ever on Lake Erie! So what do you do with all those delicious Walleye fillets? We all love the Classic WalleyeFish Fry... but what if you are looking for something different. This month and again next month I'm sharing two family favorites that will do your Walleye proud. The Walleye fishing continues to be ridiculously good from Huron to Cleveland casting or trolling, whatever your preference both methods are producing. Summer is streaking by fast - get out and enjoy family, friends and all our great State has to offer.
Regards, Kevin
Membership Bulletin
I have had a handful of members who lost, misplaced, or otherwise cannot locate their badges for 2022. I just want to remind everyone that these badges serve as passes to access and use the ranges. If they are lost and someone else finds them, the finders will have access to the range; all they would have to do is access the website to get the address of the club. If this happens, it does so at a financial loss and liability risk to the club. While I have agreed to replace these wayward badges, I implore you to keep them in a safe location. I think next year we will have to levy some type of charge to replace a lost badge.
For those of you who have yet to renew, it is not too late! Although the gate combination changes have taken place, you can still get to the range by paying your 2022 dues. I will accept renewals from all 2021 members throughout the 2022 calendar year. If you fail to renew for 2022 and wish to be a member in 2023, the original initiation fee of $250 will apply. So do your wallet a favor and get those renewals in! New for 2022 is the ability to pay with a credit card online! To do this, go to our new website, LaGrangeHuntClub.org, and check it out! Of course, we will still take dues at membership meetings in cash or check, or by USPS – simply send your renewal dues (in check form) to P.O. Box 131, LaGrange, Ohio 44050.

They can either join directly online, or they can print the Application and Waiver and send via email (LaGrangeHuntClub@gmail.com) or via USPS to the address above.

Junior Membership
The Junior Members Fund will provide a sponsorship to help cover the camp fees for The Lake & Trails – Youth Hunting / Shooting Camp again in 2022. Our Junior Members President, Jace Walters himself has attended all four years of this camp, and plans on returning in 2022 as a Junior Instructor. Jace wants kids to go to this camp because it is a really good learning experience because you get to learn how to shoot many types of guns; including rifles, pistols, air guns, black powder and some archery items as well. You will also get the chance to throw axes, make a knife and even make primitive items. You will also learn about wildlife, how to trap, and even get your Ohio Boaters License and Hunter Safety Course if you need to. And most importantly, you get to hangout with other kids who like the outdoors like you do.
To qualify for the sponsorship you need to help out at a couple general memberhsip meetings and do a work party. Attend a general membership meeting and talk to the Junior Members President, Jace Walters for complete details and to sign up. If you would like to contact Jace email him at Recreation@JaceWalters.com
When you patronize supporters of JaceWaltersRecreation and the Junior Membership please remember to tell their management THANK YOU for their SUPPORT!

Archery Range News
Come spring, one of the first changes you will see will be in the 3D Archery range. More animals will be put out, and in a manner where they will not need to be removed in order to mow the grass. Future plans include creating a walking 3D course in order to help simulate hunting and tournament conditions. After that a slight redesign of the bag target range.

2023 Wild Game DinnerFor the 3rd consecutive year, we were forced to cancel our annual Wild Game Dinner. The first 2 years were covid-induced, and while covid was certainly a concern this year, the primary issue was the lack of donations of wild game, without which we certainly couldn’t have a Wild Game dinner. This event is our 2nd largest fundraiser every year
