President's Message
Wow, it’s already April! And good riddance winter, 2021-2022! The Spring Walleye run on the Maumee River is on, and soon to follow is the April reef bite. And for you Steelheaders, you already know in April the rivers will be full of Silver Bullets, and no, not Coors Light Cans!
Before we know it, the Ohio Spring turkey opener will be here. And don't forget the special youth weekend prior to the opener. Get those young-uns out there and let them bust a longbeard! Nothing like those feathers floating in the cool morning air as the rising sun highlights them. Add the smell of freshly-burned gun powder and it’s turkey hunters nirvana. But best of all will be that ear-to-ear smile from your little huntin'; partner.
Our June 4th Steak Fry is off and running. We have our 'Grill Team'; assembled, headed by Master Chef Dusty Shell... Thank You Chef! We are asking for donations for the Chinese Raffle baskets... please call me if you are willing to step up. Tickets will be available at the April 4th general membership meeting as well as online through our website. More details regarding the dinner to be announced.
Our current Rolling Gun Raffle is for a Sig P320 9MM, and who wouldn't want that? Tickets available at the meeting and again online. These are going fast - don't miss out on your chance to win.
And last but not least, we need to grow our membership. By now you should have renewed, and did you invite that extended family member or friend to join? We are accepting new memberships all year long. Time to get outside and enjoy Ohio's Springtime weather and opportunities itbrings.
Regards, Kevin

Junior Membership
The Junior Members Fund will provide a sponsorship to help cover the camp fees for The Lake & Trails – Youth Hunting / Shooting Camp again in 2022. Our Junior Members President, Jace Walters himself has attended all four years of this camp, and plans on returning in 2022 as a Junior Instructor. Jace wants kids to go to this camp because it is a really good learning experience because you get to learn how to shoot many types of guns; including rifles, pistols, air guns, black powder and some archery items as well. You will also get the chance to throw axes, make a knife and even make primitive items. You will also learn about wildlife, how to trap, and even get your Ohio Boaters License and Hunter Safety Course if you need to. And most importantly, you get to hangout with other kids who like the outdoors like you do.
To qualify for the sponsorship you need to help out at a couple general memberhsip meetings and do a work party. Attend a general membership meeting and talk to the Junior Members President, Jace Walters for complete details and to sign up. If you would like to contact Jace email him at Recreation@JaceWalters.com
When you patronize supporters of JaceWaltersRecreation and the Junior Membership please remember to tell their management THANK YOU for their SUPPORT!

Archery Range News
Come spring, one of the first changes you will see will be in the 3D Archery range. More animals will be put out, and in a manner where they will not need to be removed in order to mow the grass. Future plans include creating a walking 3D course in order to help simulate hunting and tournament conditions. After that a slight redesign of the bag target range.
Special Announcements
2022 Farmers’ Appreciation Fishing Trip Scheduled! Finally, after 2 covid-cancelled years, the annual Farmers’ Appreciation Fishing Trip is back on! May 14th.
Contact Trustee Dave Novak to reserve your spot. Any spots remaining after our Farmer / Landowner members have claimed theirs will be available to club members.
Wild Game Dinner Cancelled… AgainFor the 3rd consecutive year, we were forced to cancel our annual Wild Game Dinner. The first 2 years were covid-induced, and while covid was certainly a concern this year, the primary issue was the lack of donations of wild game, without which we certainly couldn’t have a Wild Game dinner. This event is our 2nd largest fundraiser every year (after the gun raffle) and the absence of it for 3 years running has made a significant impact in our resources. Please remember your club as the 2022 hunting and fishing season progresses! Catch 5 fish? Set one aside for LHFC! Bag more turkey than you can consume? LHFC! Too much venison, duck, goose, rabbit, brontosaurus, or platypus? Again, LHFC! This message will repeat until compliance!
5th Rolling Gun Raffle, tickets now availableThe fifth gun in our rolling raffle is a SIG P320 9mm.
As before, $10 donation and only 250 max will be sold!Call Mike Beckwith or Roger Maynard to reserve your tickets,
