President's Message
President’s Message - June 2026June is here hope you all are doing well. The Farmers Fishing trip was canceled due to a small craft advisory, 6 ft waves and strong winds. Rescheduled for August. We will be getting new benches in the shooting stalls soon work party scheduled for May 31 to start building them.We will have meetings though the summer months to help sell fall dinner tickets and pick up donations.Please think about helping out. Any volunteers or donations are greatly appreciated thanks. for the general public and improvements to our range. Like the “new” used traps we bought from a local club which we hope to implement into our present field soon. Keep in mind the Fall Dinner tickets will be available soon. We will let you know when, where, and how much once wehave them printed.
President’s Message – July 2026July will be here in a few days. The members meeting will be on Monday July 6th. The Fall Dinner tickets are being printed as I speak. Hopefully they will be available for the next meeting, check with me then. The Father’s Day Fishing derby was held on Father’s Day this year, 17 kids and their Parents showed up. I would like to thank Red Hatten, Joel Kristoff and Roger Maynard foradjusting their schedule on Father’s Day to come and help me with this event. Also, for donations from David Spillar, Red Hatten and Roger Maynard. The club supplied hotdogs, chips, beverages and some other prizes. Each kid won a prize in the drawing. You should have been there to see the smiles on their faces as they brought in their fish to be logged in. All had a great time. Range work party’s last Sunday of each month weather permitting. Our LaGrange Hunt Club Junior Members President Jace Walters, whom is a 3-time GSSF - CMP National Challenge Champion; is offering various firearms classes, including Pistol Handling & Safety and Introduction to Steel Shooting.
These classes are FREE of charge and primarily for our youth members, but open to all LaGrange Hunt Club members and immediate family members. No prior experience is required, and all equipment and supplies will be provided for attendees.Interested parties should reach out to Jace directly to schedule a class.

2026 Farmer Members’ Meal Voucher Program

Farmers belonging to the LaGrange Hunt & Fish Club are a cornerstone of the Club. Their continued support to our members, community and the land they manage are vital to sportsman’s way of life. The Club has traditionally shown appreciation to these landowners by providing vouchers for Fish Fry meals. This year, the Club is trying a new program to show appreciation to those farmers while also supporting a local business owner that has a long history with the Club and farmers. Coordinating with Becca’s Choo Choos Restaurant, the Club will provide four, $15 vouchers to each farm registered with the Club in 2026. These vouchers may be used to purchase any food and drink items found on the menu. Farmers are not limited to fried fish and may choose from a variety of meals. The new vouchers will expire on 30 June, providing three months to visit Choo Choos Restaurant to enjoy a great meal, courtesy of the LaGrange Hunt and Fish Club.Each voucher is good for food, drinks, and sales tax up to $15. Vouchers may be combined to purchase a larger meal(s). The vouchers have no cash value and are only accepted at Becca’s Choo Choos Restaurant in LaGrange. All meal vouchers expire on 30 June 2026. Once the voucher is used, it is expired, meaning it can only be used once. Any value less than $15 is lost. Meal and taxes greater than $15 are the responsibility of the customer. Trustee Dave Beck undertook a project unique to the Club and prepared an event program for the Wild Game Dinner that includes advertising in full color. These advertisements are now also included in the digital version of club newsletters. If you know of any businesses that could benefit from advertising in our newsletter (circulation 350) please contact Dave at 216- 633-7840. Also, please encourage your employer to support the Club.
Membership Bulletin It’s TIME to Re-up for 2026!
Your 2025 badge will expire on March 31st, 2026. On April 1st, 2026, the combination to the club grounds gates will change, and unless you have paid your 2026 dues, your access to the club grounds will end. So, please, get those dues in! The 2026 season goes from April 1 2026 until March 31st 2027. Based on the calls and emails I receive, it is painfully obvious that many members never bother to read club correspondence.
The 2026 dues schedule is outlined below:Regular Members (under age 65 at the beginning of 2026): Total = $175.00, comprising of dues of $125.00 plus $50.00 gun raffle tickets.Senior Members* (age 65 and over at the beginning of 2026): Total = $150.00, comprising of dues of $100.00 plus $50.00 gun raffle tickets.Golden Age Senior Members* (born in 1947 or earlier): Total = $110.00, comprising of dues of $60.00 plus $50.00 gun raffle tickets.Officers/Trustees/Active Military: $50.00There are three different methods of renewal:1. Every year, a number of late-payers begin complaining about lack of access. It takes some time to process, create, and mail out badges. The surest and easiest way to ensure range access is uninterrupted is to pony up before your current badge expires.

Junior Membership
The Junior Members Fund will provide a sponsorship to help cover the camp fees for The Lake & Trails – Youth Hunting / Shooting Camp again in 2026. Our Junior Members President, Jace Walters himself has attended all four years of this camp. Jace wants kids to go to this camp because it is a really good learning experience because you get to learn how to shoot many types of guns; including rifles, pistols, air guns, black powder and some archery items as well. You will also get the chance to throw axes, make a knife and even make primitive items. You will also learn about wildlife, how to trap, and even get your Ohio Boaters License and Hunter Safety Course if you need to. And most importantly, you get to hangout with other kids who like the outdoors like you do.
To qualify for the sponsorship you need to help out at a couple general memberhsip meetings and do a work party. Attend a general membership meeting and talk to the Junior Members President, Jace Walters for complete details and to sign up. Firearms Range News
Hours of operation: Monday through Saturday: 10:00am-duskSunday: Noon-5:00pmWork Parties: Roger will contact those who have previously expressed a wish to help. If you wish to be added to his list, please contact Roger Maynard or Mike Beckwith and leave a message.Remember to lock the gate behind you when leaving. The locks must have the combination dialed in to close, then roll the dials to lock.Make sure you review and adhere to the rules: SAFETY FIRST!! Always, Always, Always, Always! We have never had an accident at our range – don’t be the first to break this 94-year-old record! Remember your badge. Without it, you will be considered to be trespassing on club grounds and asked to leave! Sign in and sign out. Review the rules before each use of the range. They are posted on the boards. Pick up after yourselves. Police your brass and trash. Be courteous to fellow members. If you have any questions, or find a deficiency, please contact your 2025 Range Marshal Roger Maynard.

We offer our members both a bag and 3D archery course.The range is open Sunday through Saturday from 9am to sunset.

Calling All Tradesmen! Your Club NEEDS you!The rental house the club owns (and provides a not-so-insignificant amount of income) is in need of repairs. The septic system is under repair as I write this, but the house also desperately needs a bathroom remodel. We are hoping to save $$$ on this by appealing to the membership for assistance.
